Can Experiment.

Aim: To see what happens when you put a heated can in cold water.

Hypothesis: I thought the can would explode.

Method: We put a can on top of an element and boiled it, then we took it off when it started steaming then put in in cold water headfirst.

Results: It collapsed.

Discussion: The can is filled with water and is being heated constantly and was put into water and when something steaming hits cold water the water shrunk it really fast.

Sustainability Hurumanu - Semester 2

For the last 6 weeks, we have been working on sustainability for week 1 we had to watch a Netflix video on COVID-19 to see what actually happened then week 2 we learned how to use different graphs and played some maths games, In week three we will unpack Sustainability a bit more, looking at specific examples of Sustainability. In week four we will explore Sustainability even further, looking at specific examples of Sustainability, and how to correctly structure an essay. In week Five we will complete our writing task and use the Paragraph Card structure to record our research on Sustainability issues and try the Library for different forms of information. In week 6 we learned some core mathematics skills to apply our understanding of sustainability.

The blueberry muffins tasted like lemon on the outside and when u bite the blueberries it tasted like blueberries.

The texture of the muffins felt as if they would melt in your mouth.

Angles and movement shots.

*High angle- makes the character 'other Wybie' look small, weak, and vulnerable.

*POV- Other mother - dominant & powerful.

*Medium shot- gives us some idea of the background but not full.

*Audience feels- powerful we are looking down on Wybie through other mothers POV sad worried for Wybie- he looks small, sad, innocent.
-the first character in other world to suggest something is not right.

*Directors purpose-makes us feel sorry for Wybie.
-It makes the audience think that maybe the other mother isn't so nice-foreshadowing.

*In the shot with the other Wybie and the other mother, high angle shots
are used effectively to show the theme looks can be deceiving.

-This is demonstrated through a high angle shot from the point of view of the other mother. She is looking down the front porch steps at a scared other Wybie. This makes the audience feel sorry for Wybie and makes the other mother see powerful. The purpose of this scene was to make the audience think that maybe the other mother isn't so nice after all. Combined with the use of lighting, Wybie is in a warm light but surrounded by darkness, the director has created an atmosphere of caution-something is not right. This reminds the viewer of a later scene where Coraline is looking up at the other mother in horror as she throws her through a magical portal into a locked room. This shows that looks can be deceiving because the other mother wasn't nice like Coraline's first thought.

A reduction in the normal amount of this cartilage tissue causes some forms of arthritis. Normal wear and tear cause OA, one of the most common forms of arthritis. An infection or injury to the joints can exacerbate this natural breakdown of cartilage tissue.
Not everyone develops osteoarthritis. It is not an inevitable condition. Risk factors increase the likelihood you will develop osteoarthritis, but people can develop the disease who have none of the known risk factors.
Osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis the most common form of arthritis.
Rheumatoid Arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease, which means that the
the immune system attacks parts of the body—especially the joints.
  1. How to avoid achy joints. You can't always prevent arthritis.
  2. Eat fish. Certain fish are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, a healthy polyunsaturated fat.
  3. Control your weight. Your knees have to support your body weight.
  4. Exercise.
  5. Avoid injury.
  6. Protect your joints.
  7. See your doctor.

workshop 1: Unpacking themes and ideas

Theme/Idea- Something that links throughout the story.

'Looks can be deceiving'
-Things aren't always what they seem.

Example 1: The beldam/ The other mother.
- She starts off nice as good, Kind but is revealed to be a soul evil soul devourer metal spider demon.
- Shows theme because the other mother changes gradually over time so that Coraline & the audience don't notice.
- Important to the story because it helps the audience understand Coraline's choice when she realizes that having everything perfect won't make her happy.

Example 2: Otherworld VS Real-world.
- The other world is a perfect web/trap to catch Coraline, whereas the real world is boring but safe.
- Show theme because even though the other world seems better in every way, the real world is actually better/safer because it isn't a trap.
- Important to help audience understand why Coraline goes back to the real world.

Statement- In Coraline, themes, and ideas I used effectively.

Evidence- For instance, the theme 'looks can be deceiving' is shown through the character of the 'other mother'The Other Mother ' starts kind, but is revealed to be a soul-devouring demon.

eXplanation- This makes the audience feel that we shouldn't trust things or people that seem perfect at first glance.

eXplanation- This was done to make the audience feel weary or develop a sense of caution toward new situations.

-Coinciding with this is the use of color to show the 'Other Mother' is becoming eviler. At the start, she is surrounded by warm colors that make us feel safe, but by the end, it is dark with neon green wich her seem dangerous.

Your link &  This they're is also shown through the changes in the 'other world'  as it is revealed to be a spider web design to catch Coraline.

How does a hand work.

In Science, we have been learning about how the had worked and instead of making a hand, I choose to make a blog post.

Human hand skeletal structure depicting finger bones, joints ...
Bones: A hand is made up of 27 individual bones, 8 carpal bones, and 5 metacarpal bones.
Bones provide structure and support.
There are 3 bones in all fingers and 2 bones in the thumb.

Ligaments: Attach bones together they allow movement certain directions only.

Muscles and tendons: There are no muscles in our fingers only in our forearm and palm.
Tendons attach the don't to muscle.
Long tendons run from the tip of our fingers down to our muscles.
The muscles then move our fingers by contracting and relaxing.
As the muscle contracts, it pulls on the tendon, making our finger curl down.
